How to change the date format in Oracle 10 G and 11 G

 May Allah's peace , mercy and blessing be upon you

The following code to change  the date format in  Oracle 10 G or 11 G

alter session set NLS_DATE_FORMAT='yyyy-MM-dd';

Here are adjusted to the date format day month year

07/09/2011

Then be able to save data within the date field in that format
